SAN LORENZO MARKET
Civitavecchia Market, also known as San Lorenzo Market is located in the heart of the hiscotric center, around Piazza Regina Margherita. It is here where every morning citizens come to buy fresh food products, such as fruit and vegetables, as well as to the well-known and blooming Fish market, flagship of the city. The area has been taking shape from 1884 after the city walls that marked the limits between the city and the neighboring country were knocked down.

PORTA LIVORNO
Porta Livorno is a huge monumental passage built in 1761 by request of Pope Clemens XIII, with the aim to communicate the port with the north side of the city, as we can learn from the memorial stone placed over the gate. Located in the heart of the historical port of Civitavecchia, the gate ows its name to the fact that it looks towards the Tuscan city with the same name.

FORT MICHELANGELO
Civitavecchia's Fort Michelangelo is actually one of the most important militar architectonical structures of the coastline of Lazio The works of the Fort started from the Bramante were carried on by his pupils Giuliano Leno and Antonio da Sangallo il Giovane. The fortress was finally completed in 1535 under the papacy of Pope Paulus III da Farnese, great patron of arts.

THE MARINA OF CIVITAVECCHIA
The Marina of Civitavecchia includes the whole seafront section from Fort Michelangelo, through Viale Garibaldi and Pirgo seaside establishment, getting south to Borgo Odescalchi. Recently subject to important requalification works, the Marina has become an authentic central part of the city, suitable for holding events, concerts and manifestations. The focus of all activities is the great area of Piazza della Vita (formerly Piazzale degli Eventi) in front of Fort Michelangelo, where in summer is usual to find also exhibitions of local and artisan products, stalls, merry-go-rounds and games for children, pubs, street food, news stands and open bars. The whole area is full of bars, restaurants and pizzerias ready to welcome any kind of customer and to suit every pocket! During the day, Civitavecchia's promenade is the perfect place to spend a pleasant relax moment far from the stress and caos of the center, while during the night, it becomes a meeting point for young people who crowd the bars.

MACCHIATONDA REGIONAL NATURE RESERVE
The Macchiatonda Nature Reserve is located between the sea at Santa Marinella and the Tolfa mountains, halfway between the splendide Castle of Santa Severa and Natural Oasis of Torre Flavia. The reserve extends for well 250 hectares of di boggy fields, freshwater and brackish ponds, sand dunes and a thick forest of elm and laurel trees after which the reserve takes its name.

NATIONAL ETRUSCAN MUSEUM OF TARQUINIA
The National Etruscan Museum of Tarquinia, held within Palazzo Vitelleschi, is beyond doubt one of the richest and most importnat museums of Italy. Authentic architectonical masterpiece from the Renaissance, it was built by will of Cardinal Giovanni Vitelleschi between 1436 and 1439 based on a project by Giovanni Dalmata.

THE ETRUSCAN NECROPOLIS OF MONTEROZZI IN TARQUINIA
